Tips on How to Buy Best Induction Hobs

Induction Hobs. In this recent year, induction cooking becomes more popular. Induction cooking is a kind of cooking that applies an electromagnetic field to heat the cookware. Induction hobs generate high frequency electromagnetic fields that create a current in the magnetic cookware. The current produced will heat up the cookware.

There are many advantages of induction hobs:

1.	Cooking on induction hobs is more secure than other than other stove, like gas or electric stove. The induction hobs only heat the cookware, so there’s no open flame. Furthermore, the induction hobs have sensors that will shut down the induction hobs when the cookware is overheating.
2.	Induction hobs are more energy efficient than other cook stove. Induction hobs using up to 90% of the energy produced. This making induction hob more economical. There is no heat loss in the air and the surrounding objects.
3.	Induction hobs heat up the induction cookware instantly, faster than other stove. It also quicker to adjust to the level of heating we want simply by adjusting the control knob on the hobs.

I’ve wanted an induction hob and this model fits the bill perfectly. It’s easy to operate, cooks and warms the foods without creating extra heat in the kitchen. I’ve cooked meats, vegetables and pastas to perfection. Able to set temperature or time makes it easy to cooking. I was especially pleased with the interface disk as some of my pots and pans are not magnetized. I was able to use my glass cookware. I don’t regret this purchase. Read more..

- Only use induction compatible cookware.

This is our first induction unit and we love it. I think this is a remarkable technology and can be had so cheaply. 1) Very intense heat when you want it. This unit is quite powerful rated at 1600 watts.
2) Instant and precise temperature controls
3) Digital temperature indicators
4) A timer! Fantastic. So you can put something on and plan to have it stop cooking in 10 minutes.
5) Much less wasted heat. With a conventional range, 50-60% of the heat is just heating up your kitchen. Read more…

Caphalon Cookware Guide

Caphalon is a brand name with product lines include items for offices, cleaning and organization, tools and home.

Caphalon Cookware is one of Caphalon product that made of a specially treated aluminum called hard-anodized aluminum.

After hard-anodized aluminum process, the Caphalon Cookware becomes extremely resistant to scratches, rust, corrosion, or chipping. It also becomes much harder then stainless steel and becomes sealed to make it safe for humans to cook with.

Calphalon Contemporary Nonstick 10-Inch & 12-Inch Omelet Combo Pack

Caphalon cookware has several advantages:

1. Caphalon has been proven to be extremely durable, with a long life span.

2. Caphalon can tolerate very high heats while spreading the heat evenly. It can be placed into the oven with an oven temperature of no greater than 450. However, using the medium heat is far better than a high heat because the cookware (that made of aluminum) conducts heat so well. Frying food on high heat can make the pan so hot that it burns the food, which will then stick.
3. Caphalon is ultra smooth and is resistant to chipping. There are no places for bacteria or germs to get trapped.

Calphalon Commercial Hard-Anodized 2-1/2-Quart Shallow Saucepan with Lid

4. Hard anodizing makes the surfaces smooth by eliminating the tiny pores. This is what makes these pans non-stick. In order to ensure maximizing the no stick properties, take ten to fifteen minutes to chill out of refrigerated foods before cooking and also pre-heat the cookware over medium heat.

5. It is able to cook acidic foods. However, repeated cooking of acidic foods will cause the cookware to turn silver.

6. There is nothing toxic. The anodization process is stable, so there will never be any chemicals or anything harmful coming off the pan into the food.

The Basic of Kitchen Bakeware

Kitchen bakeware is one of the things must be available in almost every kitchen. There are various kinds of kitchen bakeware in the market.

One important aspect you have to know before choosing a good bakeware is the material of kitchen bakeware.

The Material of Kitchen Bakeware

1. Stoneware

Stoneware is good for even cooking, since it distributes heat evenly and retains heat; keep the food warm for a long time. However, it takes more time than other material to heat up initially. It is not porous so that it won’t stain and not absorb moisture. The weakness of stoneware is that it can chip and break. Many colors and style are available. Most stoneware surfaces must be rubbed with oil before using for the first time.

2. Glass

Ovenproof glass bakeware conducts heat well; it heats faster and holds heat longer than metal. Therefore, you have to reduce baking temperatures by approximately 25°F from the recipe instructions. From the oven, you have to cool it to room temperature before putting it in the refrigerator or exposing it to water to avoid cracking. On the other side, it can be taken from the refrigerator and placed in a hot oven. The glass bakeware is does not react to acidic foods, does not stain and easy to clean. The weakness of glass bakeware is that it can chip, crack and break.

Baker's Edge Nonstick Edge Brownie Pan

3. Aluminum

Aluminum kitchen bakeware is an excellent conductor of heat. It is durable and will not rust. You better choose heavy-gauge aluminum bakeware rather than the thinner variety. The thinner bakeware may warp when exposed to high temperatures. The weakness of aluminum bakeware is that it can react with acidic foods.

4. Anodized Aluminum

Electro chemical process on anodized aluminum bakeware makes it harden and have a scratch-resistant surface that will not rust, peel or blister.

Pyrex Storage 10-Piece Set, Clear with Blue Lids

5. Tinned Steel

Tinned steel bakeware is made from sheets of steel covered with a thin coat of tin. It is heat slowly and evenly.

6. Non-Stick

Non-stick bakeware is a steel or aluminum bakeware with a non-stick coating. The non stick coating can be flaking so you have to extra care when using and cleaning it. To avoid scratching the nonstick coating, don’t use metal utensils; as an alternative, wood or plastic tool must be used.

7. Cast Iron

Farberware Insulated Pizza Pan and Cookie Sheet Baking Set

Cast iron bakeware is known for its ability to retain heat and handle extremely hot temperatures. It’s also long lasting. It must be seasoned with a layer of grease and must be scrubbed with plain hot water, or hot water and corn starch or salt, to avoid removal of the seasoned nonstick surface. The drawback of cast iron bakeware is that it is extremely heavy.

8. Silicone

Silicone bakeware allows heat to transfer evenly to the food and doesn’t absorb heat. The cooking process stops immediately when this bakeware remove from the oven.

Things You Should Know About Induction Cookware

Induction Cookware. Induction cooking is a type of electric cooking that applies an electromagnetic field to heat the cooking pot.

Induction cookware consists of pots and pans that are reactive to magnetic fields so that they will heat up from the electro magnetic field that is generated by the induction cook top.

The induction cooking has more benefits than the traditional electric or gas stoves or ovens. Induction elements do not heat up; instead they heat the pot or pan directly. It is why they are more efficient and they release less waste heat into the kitchen. Induction elements are heat faster and can cost significantly less than the traditional electric or gas stoves or ovens. They are also safer and easier to clean.

The induction cookware has to be able to conduct energy. Induction cookware must be well support a magnetic field in it–that is, to be substantially “ferrous”. Ferrous refers to a metal that is iron or iron-based, so that it must contain iron, and have a flat bottom. Although steel is certainly iron-based, in fact not all stainless steel is readily magnetize able. The cast iron cookware works excellent well on induction. Therefore, cast-iron pots and pans are necessary.

Many manufacturers, whose produce cookware suitable for induction cooking will state this in product description, like induction ready or induction compatible cookware. But if you want to make sure whether certain cookware suitable or not for induction cooking, just take a magnet, then place it on the bottom of the pot or pan. If it sticks, then it will work, if doesn’t, then it is not suitable for induction cooking.

Tri-ply 18/10 stainless, aluminum and magnetic stainless. Heat is conducted evenly throughout the pan. The pans have a wide range of stovetop compatibility, can be used with electric, gas, ceramic, halogen, induction.

I’m even more impressed with their performance with my new GE induction cooktop and I particularly like the interior volume markings.
It appears that the pasta insert is deep enough to be covered with approximately 4-quarts of water. That is plenty for a large family pasta feast. The reason I rated this 4-stars rather than 5 is that I normally cook thin spaghetti and where I would prefer a 2″ solid band around the bottom of the pasta insert (to butt the dry pasta against), there are more draining holes. Read more..
